(Salt Lake City, UT) — The president of the Utah Pride Center is in favor of President Obama’s newest executive order which protects the LGBT community from workplace discrimination.
John Netto [[ NET-toe ]] says the executive order is historic. Federal workers and contractors have been protected since 1998 based on sexual orientation, but this is the first time they’re given the same rights based on gender identity. However, Senator Orrin Hatch doesn’t approve of the executive order. He says President Obama’s administration is showing a “consistent disregard for religious liberty.”
