August 13, 2014

same=sex(Salt Lake, UT) — A federal court is giving Utah six weeks to appeal a lower court’s ruling on same-sex marriage recognition in the state. The 10th Circuit Court of Appeals yesterday set a September 22nd deadline for the state to file its appeal in the case of Evans versus Utah. A lower court ruled in May that Utah must recognize same-sex marriages performed in the state during the brief time it was legal in December and January. More than a thousand same-sex couples got married in Utah during that time.
