(Moab Utah)- Officials of Moab Regional Hospital, Tuesday, told members of the Moab Area Chamber of Commerce, of the successes and challenges MRH has achieved and continues to face. Rob Austin, MRH CEO says in the past two years, the hospital has made a major financial turnaround. He said MRFH is the only Rural Hospital to get off a Federal Financial Watch list. The hospital was recently awarded the Top 100 Critical Access Hospital status.
Austin says MRH has a 9.6 million dollar annual payroll which benefits the Moab economy, which is 166 jobs. He expressed concern about a proposed new contract with Blue Cross Blue Shield which will raise costs for BCBS members and lower reimbursement to the hospital.
