Students Hurt By Exploding Device

(Taylorsville, UT) At least four Taylorsville High School students have minor injuries from an explosion of an electric device in a student’s backpack.  The students were treated and sent back to class after the incident this morning.  Officials haven’t said what the device was.

Tank Hollow Fire Spreads To 4,200 Acres

(Spanish Fork, UT) Damage from the 3 week old Tank Hollow Fire in Spanish Fork Canyon is now estimated to be close to 4200.  Officials say the lightening-caused fire is still held at about 20% containment.  They say shifting winds are complicating efforts.

SLC Medical Unit Heads To Houston

(Salt Lake City, UT) An elite medical team out of Salt Lake City is heading to help in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts since it first formed 10 years ago.  The Utah DMAT-1 unit has a staff of 36 including doctors, nurses, paramedics and pharmacists.  The team will help medical staff in Houston-area hospitals.

Record High Temps Predicted

(Salt Lake City, UT)  Northern and southern Utah could see record-setting high temperatures this week.  Temps along the Wasatch Front are  even expected to continue to soar into the upper 90s tomorrow.  They could break Salt Lake City’s record of 99 degrees set in 2005.
