(Yosemite Village, CA)- Arches and Canyonlands are not the only National parks increasing fees, It’s about to get a bit more expensive at Yosemite National Park. Starting next month, it’ll cost between 25- to-30 dollars to enter the park depending on the season. Yosemite spokeswoman Kari Cobb says a fee hike is long overdue.
Park officials originally proposed a year-round rate of 30-bucks but changed the plan after considering public input. The extra funds will go towards restoration projects, including improvements to parking and popular trails. It will also pay for upgrades to campgrounds.
Cobb says 80-percent of the revenue stays in the park.
