(Salt Lake City Utah)- Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were uplifted by messages from their leaders, musical numbers and a new religious art exhibit this weekend. During the four general sessions, members heard message from men they believe to be prophets, and women who lead auxiliary programs for women and children in the church.President Thomas S. Monson concluded the conference by encouraging Latter-day Saints to reach out to those who struggle with challenges in life and to extend a helping hand. And Sunday morning he reminded church members of the importance of the choices they make.
There were also strong messages for members about following the Prophet. Elder Nelson of the Council of 12, a former heart Surgeon, said we do not elect prophets….
Sister Carol F. McConkie, first counselor in the General Young Women Presidency, also spoke about the importance of following leaders.
During the Conference, several speakers delivered talks in their Native Languages.
