Lawmakers Push School Funding Equalization Bill Forward

(Salt Lake City, UT) A bill that would equalize school funding in Utah is moving forward in the State Senate. Under the proposal from State Senator Lincoln Fillmore, 36 million dollars would be set aside from the state’s education budget to fund school districts that are unable to generate revenue from their own local taxes. Fillmore says the proposal will help put all Utah school districts on an equal playing field when it comes to paying and hiring teachers.
