Lawmakers Narrow Prison Relocation Sites To Three

Utah Capitol(Salt Lake City, UT)  —  Residents are vowing to continue protesting after the Utah prison relocation commission narrowed its list of top sites for a new prison down to three.  Katrina Hill of Tooele County says one of the final spots near the Miller Motor Sports Park shouldn’t even be considered.

The other locations are near I-80 and 72-hundred West in Salt Lake City and one near Eagle Mountain.  The sites were announced by state consultants and three others dropped from consideration because of concerns over environmental issues and expansion.  Many residents would prefer the prison stay in Draper, but that clashes with the views of lawmakers.
