Interim Air Service Sought for Moab, Vernal

July 9, 2015

Great Lakes(Moab Utah) Its been 45 days since Great Lakes Airlines was supposed to take over service in Moab and Vernal.  The hang-up has been the training of crews to operate the 4 Brasilia Turboprop Aircraft that Great Lakes obtained from the fleet that SkyWest recently retired. If something doesn’t happen in the next 45 days both Airports could lose Federal Subsidy Money. Both airport managers have come up with an alternate interim plan. Since Greatlakes has one crew already trained, hey propose the airline operate one flight a day from Moab, landing at Vernal, then heading for Denver with similar return service. Full deails ae on the front page of today’s Moab Times Independent.
