Herbert Not Calling For Special Session On Chaffetz

(Salt Lake City, UT)  —  Governor Herbert says there will be no special legislative session to handle the vacancy left by Representative Jason Chaffetz.  The Utah Republican has announced he’s retiring on June 30th.  Herbert said today special sessions are only called when there appears to be a broad consensus on an issue.  He says it’s possible to have a primary and general election within a 180 day window.
