(South Salt Lake, UT) — Meagan Grunwald is facing 30 years to life in prison for the murder of Utah County Sheriff’s Sergeant Cory Wride. A judge sentenced 18-year-old Grunwald yesterday to 25 years to life for aggravated murder followed by five years to life for aggravated robbery. Grunwald was convicted of driving the getaway car in January of 2014 when her boyfriend, Jose Angel Garcia-Juragui, shot and killed Wride as he sat in his patrol car. She was only 17 at the time. Officers shot and killed Garcia-Juragui later that night.
