crash site colorado(Denver, Colorado)-An Ohio couple and their terminally ill 6-year-old son all died after their small plane crashed into a ski lift in the Colorado mountains near the Continental Divide on Monday. The Kerker family was en route to Moab, Utah after a stop in the Denver area when the Piper PA 28-235 airplane, piloted by James Kerker, 43, crashed at the Loveland Ski Area about an hour after takeoff. The crash killed Kerker, his wife Amy Kerker, 39, and little Lucas, who suffered from a rare genetic disease that causes progressive loss of muscle control, immune system problems, high rates of cancer and generally kills children before adulthood. The Raymond, Ohio family used the plane to travel and take their mind off of their son’s tragic affliction. Amy’s sister, Leslie Lefeld, told the Columbus Dispatch, “They wanted to make sure he got his life experiences in,”
