City Council Refuses to Vote on Short term Rental Moratorium

moabSQUARE(Moab Utah)- This week, the Moab city council did not vote on tow possible resolutions that would, in effect, create a six month moratorium on construction and conversion of short term rental’s in Moab. The city planning commission had made the proposals in response to shortages of affordable housing in Moab. Councilmembers seemed to agree that there is an urgency to deal with the problem, but felt that a six month moratorium was not an answer. Full details in today’s Moab Times-Independent.

Meanwhile, the Housing Authority of Southeastern Utah announced it hopes to break ground next month on an affordable housing unit condo complex on 400 north.
