Tank Hollow Fire Spreads To 4,200 Acres

(Spanish Fork, UT) Damage from the 3 week old Tank Hollow Fire in Spanish Fork Canyon is now estimated to be close to 4200.  Officials say the lightening-caused fire is still held at about 20% containment.  They say shifting winds are complicating efforts.

SLC Medical Unit Heads To Houston

(Salt Lake City, UT) An elite medical team out of Salt Lake City is heading to help in Hurricane Harvey relief efforts since it first formed 10 years ago.  The Utah DMAT-1 unit has a staff of 36 including doctors, nurses, paramedics and pharmacists.  The team will help medical staff in Houston-area hospitals.

Spanish Fork Fire 40 Percent Contained

(Spanish Fork, UT) Firefighters battling the lightning-caused wildfire in Spanish Fork Canyon don’t expect full containment until mid-October.  Officials say the blaze has topped 3500 acres and crews are focusing on hot spots near campgrounds and power lines.  The fire is currently 40% contained.
